New Appointments Justices of Appeal Madame Justice Maureen Rajnauth-Lee Madame Justice Rajnauth-Lee brings to the Court of Appeal more than 30 years in the legal profession, eleven of which were as a Judge of the High Court. Appointed to the Bench in September 2001, Madame Justice Rajnauth-Lee was one of the first Judges assigned to what was at that time the Pilot Family Court Project. Prior to becoming a Judge, Madame Justice Rajnauth-Lee spent four years in the Office of the Solicitor General and 16 years in private practice. Madame Justice Lee has participated in several regional and international seminars and conferences on a wide range of legal issues and contributed significantly to various committees on the Administration of Justice in Trinidad and Tobago. Madame Justice Rajnauth-Lee is a member of the International Association of Women Judges and the Caribbean Association of Judicial Officers. Mr Justice Prakash Moosai Mr Justice Prakash Moosai has been appointed a Judge of the Trinidad and Tobago Court of Appeal. His elevation follows tenure of more than 15 years as a Puisne Judge of the High Court. Prior to serving on the bench, he spent 16 years in private practice. Mr Justice Moosai was admitted to practise at the Bar in 1981 following his graduation from the Hugh Wooding Law School at St Augustine where he obtained his Legal Education Certificate (LEC). His studies at the Hugh Wooding Law School followed three years at the Faculty of Law of the University of the West Indies pursuing his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) which he obtained in 1979. During his career, Mr Justice Moosai served on the adoption board of Trinidad and Tobago, and was also and remains a member of the Steering Committee seeing to the introduction and implementation of a Drug Treatment Court. Mr Justice Moosai’s range of extra curricula activities complements his love for and involvement in the game of cricket, including captaining teams at St Mary’s College and the Tunapuna Hindu Primary School during his early school years, and later as a member of the Under 19 and Senior National Teams, as well as Captain of the West Indies Lawyer’s Cricket team undertaking tours of India and the United Kingdom in that capacity.
