The jury management process was also upgraded to
include web-based solutions that could be used for juror
selection, summons generation, noting of exemptions,
deferrals, the generation of trial panels, as well as other
functions relevant to the processing and management of
jurors.

Security, the Ministry of Public Administration, the
Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, the Trinidad and
Tobago Prisons Service, the Trinidad and Tobago Forensics
Sciences Centre, the Director of Public Prosecution, the
Legal Aid and Advisory Authority, and the Law Association
of Trinidad and Tobago.

The activities undertaken during the year incorporated
multiple stakeholder working sessions to inform, receive
feedback, design, and communicate the process for transitioning from the old to the new system. These efforts
resulted in the development of inter-linked process maps
outlining the respective roles and information flows necessary for the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, Director of
Public Prosecution, Legal Aid and Advisory Authority and
the Judiciary. On this basis the relevant training materials
and procedural guidelines for the Court’s staff were
developed.

The passage of the Administration of Justice (Indictable
Proceedings) Act No. 20 of 2011, signalled the introduction
of a new system to facilitate greater timeliness in the
