continues to lend support to all employees and work with

Health and Wellness
The Judiciary’s health and wellness activities for the 2013
fiscal year included the organisation of health and wellness
seminars and programmes to encourage employees to
keep fit, stay in shape, and take responsibility for their
personal wellbeing. In this regard, the Judiciary was able to
successfully host its second annual Health and Wellness
Fair and undertake several brown bag lunch time seminars
on a variety of topics including diabetes, mental health, and
road safety
During the year, the Judiciary was also able to complete
approve the Judiciary’s Wellness Policy and the Judiciary’s
Gym Policy. With regard to a fitness centre for employees,
the Judiciary is nearing completion of the upgrade of the
gym at the Hall of Justice, Port of Spain, and is in the
process of making arrangements for the provision of
similar services via external gym providers in order for staff
to have access to such facilities at other court locations
throughout Trinidad and Tobago, at a cost to be agreed
upon.
After School and Vacation Centre
Following some delay, construction was initiated in July
2013 to transform the southern section of the old wing of
the St George West Magistrate’s Court into an After School
and Vacation Centre. The successful recruitment of a
Co-ordinator in January of this year advanced plans to
make this pilot project a reality, and it is now anticipated
that the Centre will begin actual operations during the last
quarter of 2013.
