Table 35 presents information on the number of new matters filed and disaggregates
the information in terms of Court districts and case-types. The statistical data
presented shows that there are four (4) Courts that significantly contributed to the
total amount of new matters filed for the 2012 – 2013 law term.
They are St George West which accounted for 16.4% at twenty-one thousand, four
hundred and twenty-five (21425) new matters filed, Chaguanas at 14.6% with
114
nineteen thousand, and eighty-four (19084) new matters filed, Arima at 13.9% with
eighteen thousand, two hundred and thirty-five (18235) new matters filed and San
Fernando Madinah Building at 10.1% with thirteen thousand, two hundred and two
(13202) new matters filed.
Combined, these four (4) districts account for 55% or seventy-one thousand, nine
hundred and forty-six (71946) new matters filed.
