To Serve and Strengthen Big and small. Urban and rural. White collar, blue collar and new collar. We’re all in this together. The heart of AWB’s mission is to serve as a unifying voice to promote economic prosperity throughout all of Washington, and in 2018 we accomplished that in many ways. For the second straight year, we traveled to shop floors across the state by bus to highlight the importance of Washington’s diverse manufacturing sector. We kept the focus on the rural economy by hosting our third Rural Jobs Summit and advocating for policies that improve access to critical infrastructure such as water and broadband in parts of the state that have not experienced the same economic growth as the urban areas. And we worked with stakeholders to educate employers about the Paid Family and Medical Leave Act, a policy that ensures families have time together when they need it most. We did all of this and more to serve and strengthen our members — the Washington employers that power our economy and build our communities. We come from different places and backgrounds, but Washingtonians are bound together by shared values: We love our state. We want the best for our families and communities. And we believe we are stronger together.
