CONNECTING THE CHS COMMUNITY
Crofton House School’s Alumnae Program
The alumnae program, led by the
Advancement team, in partnership
with the CHS Alumnae Association
provides opportunities to create and
strengthen meaningful connections
between each alumna and the CHS
community.
This collaborative partnership saw
many exciting events realized during
the 2017 – 2018 school year, including
the Winter Bazaar’s Country Kitchen
booth, the Seasonal Social, the Lunch
and Learn program, the CHS birthday
and Alumnae Achievement Awards, the
Mother/Daughter tea and numerous
class reunions.
Alumnae Achievement Awards
This year the Alumnae Association
was delighted to present the Alumnae
Association Lifetime Achievement
Award to Ann Mortifee ’65. Ms.
Mortifee is a Member of the Order of
Canada, the highest honour bestowed
on civilians by the Government of
Canada. Her albums, concerts, musicals,
scores for ballet, opera, film and TV
and book, In Love with the Mystery , have
generated national and international
distinctions and awards.
When asked what advice she would
offer CHS girls and alumnae, Ann said
“I threw myself to the wind, and said,
‘I’m going to trust there’s a purpose
for me being here, and I’m going to put
one foot in front of the other, and I’m
going to show up every single day to
see what life brings me.’ Sometimes it
brought me things I didn’t like, other
times it brought me things that were
just fantastic.”
