“We must also be aware
of the context in which
doctors work and do
what we can to support
them.”
both the public and physicians.
We have also continued work on developing
policy and other guidance for physicians.
In 2017, we did much of the groundwork in
developing our Continuity of Care policy that
is now out for consultation. To ensure that we
developed a draft that struck the right balance,
we engaged with the profession, members of
the public and stakeholders. We look forward
to continued consultation and collaboration to
ensure that we have a policy that is relevant,
practical and most significantly, minimizes
breaks in continuity of care.
In closing, I hope you enjoy reading our
2017 Annual Report. We are proud of the
work that we do, and pleased with what we
accomplished.
Thank you,
David Rouselle
And on the topic of looking forward, I am
pleased to welcome Dr. Nancy Whitmore to the
College as the new Registrar and CEO. Nancy
joined us in June of 2018 and already has a
solid grasp of the many complex and nuanced
issues facing the College. In the coming year,
we will be developing a new strategic direction
and I have confidence in Nancy’s ability to
lead this organization into a new era of patient
protection.
