DISTRICT 11 SKILLSUSA CHAMPIONSHIPS
Our flagship event, Championships provides an opportunity
for students to showcase their skills to the larger community,
applying what they have learned in the classroom to challenging
scenarios designed by experts in their respective fields that
simulate the demands of the 21st century workplace. Over 400
students competed in 54 contest at Ag Hall in Allentown and
other sites throughout our area. During the VIP Luncheon,
Christian Marasco, a student speaker from Monroe Career and
Technical Institute, spoke about the important role SkillsUSA
and his advisors played in boosting his self-confidence and
helping him to set career goals.
Nearly 100 District 11 Gold medalists advanced to Hershey
where they vied for a spot at the National Leadership &
Skills Conference. SkillsUSA Pennsylvania celebrated its 50th
anniversary at the State Conference, and welcomed Governor
Tom Wolf as the keynote speaker at the closing ceremony.
