From the leadership of AWB An investment in the future of our state Our mission is bold: “AWB is the catalytic leader and unifying voice for economic prosperity throughout Washington state.” And our vision is clear: “Washington will excel as a globally competitive state built on a solid foundation of innovation, a world-class workforce, and a quality of place second to none.” Those two statements, resulting from last year’s crafting of a new AWB Strategic Plan, reflect a growing enthusiasm not only for building stronger, more prosperous businesses throughout Washington state, but for creating a stronger state for all Washingtonians. Simply put, healthy employers are an essential part of a healthy community. Carrying out this new mission will require hard work on a range of challenges, both old and new. But we think you will agree the reward — seeing our vision come to life — is well worth the effort. And the work is already underway, as you will see in the following pages. Thank you for your investment in AWB — and the future of our great state. 2015 NOTABLES AWB 2020 Convened a 15-member committee to create a new four-year Strategic Plan to guide our work through 2020.
