Place
A land of innovators
and adventure-seekers
Washington is blessed with an abundance of natural
resources and beauty, diverse communities and a rich
history. It’s no wonder, then, that entrepreneurs and
adventure-seekers are drawn here.
GRASSROOTS ALLIANCE
ADVOCATES OF THE YEAR
And yet we understand that healthy businesses and thriving
communities don’t happen by accident. They are the result
of hard work and smart policy choices.
Grow Here, the latest iteration of AWB’s employer image
campaign, celebrated the success of three AWB member
companies in 2015, and reminded lawmakers that policy
decisions they make in Olympia carry tangible consequences
in boardrooms and on shop floors across the state.
Healthy businesses and thriving
communities are the result of hard
work and smart policy choices.
Seattle Chocolates, Eco Chemical and National Frozen
Foods are helping build community in Seattle, Chehalis,
Moses Lake and Quincy.
The Grassroots Alliance, a partnership with local chambers
of commerce throughout the state, is another way in which
AWB is working to improve the livability of communities of
all size in every corner of the state.
Formed in 2014, the alliance grew to more than 50 chambers
in 2015 and is working to improve local and state issue
advocacy and build a dynamic statewide outreach network.
And the annual AWB Holiday Kids’ Tree Project raised more
than $26,000 in cash donations that were distributed to rural
fire departments in 18 counties throughout the state.
We’re helping build a state with a quality of place
second to none.
