Go Falcons Go !

A new athletics facility ushers in a new era

In the history of Crofton House , the 2015 – 2016 academic year will forever be remembered as a new and exciting chapter in sport thanks to the opening of the new Senior School Athletics Centre and fitness centre with its state-of-the-art equipment .
In only a short time , the opening of the new facility positively impacted the entire school community in a multitude of ways . Beyond giving our senior girls a welldesigned , functional new space with its glassed in atrium in which to play , girls from other teams , and members of the CHS community working out at the fitness centre above can now regularly cheer on their schoolmates , bringing an added sense of community and team support . Having the dedicated space for our Senior School girls , in turn , allowed us to dedicate Chan Hall entirely as the Junior School gymnasium .
Our spacious and re-envisioned athletics facilities have given CHS the opportunity to host tournaments and welcome young athletes onto our campus in a way we could not previously , due to space constraints . During the year , for example , both the Junior and Senior schools hosted Independent School Athletic Association Championships and BC Provincial tournaments that included independent and public schools from across the Metro Vancouver region and beyond .
All girls at CHS are encouraged to embrace an active and balanced lifestyle . With the inspiring new facilities we can now offer our girls , Crofton House is demonstrating the extent to which athletics and physical activity can and do play an important role in the lives of our students .

Go Falcons Go !

In fall 2015 , CHS proudly unveiled the Crofton Falcons . A bold and exciting name for our CHS Athletics Teams , the falcon is a fitting mascot . Known as a sleek hunter , the peregrine falcon is renowned for its speed — the fastest creature on earth . Attractive , strong and capable of reaching great heights , it is agile and adaptable , boasting exceptional powers of vision . The female falcon is also known for being larger than its male counterpart , the tercel , and is an especially formidable force … just like our CHS girls .
