Program of Work District 11 SkillsUSA Championships Our flagship event, Championships provides an opportunity for students to showcase their skills to the larger community, applying what they have learned in the classroom to challenging scenarios designed by experts in their respective fields that simulate the demands of the 21st century workplace. Over 400 students competed in 55 contests of skill in Leadership at Ag-Hall in Allentown and other sites throughout our area. Tarahgee Morris-Brown, a Monroe Career & Technical Student, spoke at the luncheon about how SkillsUSA has impacted him and helped him grow. Gold medalists advance to the State Conference in Hershey where they vie for a spot at the National Leadership & Skills Conference. This year thirteen students competed at Nationals. Breakfast of Champions & the National Leadership and Skills Conference Parents, teachers, sponsors, and event managers attended the send off breakfast to wish our competitors well and prepare them for the National Conference. District 11 was represented by 13 competitors. Bethlehem Area VocationalTechnical School also represented Pennsylvania at Nationals as a Model of Excellence, which represents the very best in chapter achievement and community involvement. Their student representatives were Dan Mirza and Emily Viola.
