President’s Message

elcome to the College’s 2013 Annual Report.
It was a year marked with important milestones and
new initiatives – all helping to ensure that Ontario
patients receive the quality care that they deserve.
If there was one phrase that defined 2013 for the CPSO, it would
have to be “increasing transparency.” Indeed, over the last year, the
connection between transparency and our mandate of protecting
the public trust came into focus like never before. We have always
believed that information provided by the College needs to provide assurance to the public that practitioners are competent and
that the public is safe. But in 2013, we launched an initiative that
began to put these beliefs into broader practice.
If there was one phrase

For example, after an external consultation, we decided last year
to post the results of our Out-of-Hospital Premises Inspection
Program (OHPIP) to our public register. OHPIP was one of our
greatest achievements
