As of the fall of 2013, the Pathways Project became another driver
of assessment. This initiative, which extends to 2016, is an evaluation of physicians licensed through College registration policies and pathways to determine what, if any, differences exist in
the performance of physicians who achieve Ontario registration
through alternative routes to registration and those who are registered through traditional routes to registration.
The QAC is also responsible for assessments of physicians changing their scope of practice, re-entering practice, and for more
comprehensive re-assessments.
