Presentations & Conferences Dr. Anthony Caputo Dr. Anthony Caputo, DDS, MA, FACD, FICD, Senior Associate Director, Lutheran Medical Center, Department of Dental Medicine’s AEGD Program. He presented at the 22nd International Association for Disability & Oral Health conference on October 2-4, 2014 in Berlin, Germany. Dr. Caputo was one of three presenters representing a global perspective of anesthesia administered in the dental office setting. One presenter from Asia, the second from Europe and Dr. Caputo represented The Americas. Dr. Susan Dietrich Dr. Susan Dietrich, Vice President, Graduate Dental Education and Distance Learning respectively, presented “Residents’ Expectations Regarding Use of an Electronic Portfolio in a Pediatric Dental Residency Program: A Pilot Study” at the International Association for Pediatric Dentistry Meeting in Seoul, Korea in June, 2013. Dr. Neal Demby, DMD, MPH Dr. Demby, Senior Vice President of Lutheran HealthCare, presented in Fort Worth, Texas on April 29, 2014 at the National Oral Health Conference and the American Board of Dental Public Health Symposium. Dr. Demby’s presentation was entitled; “Equity: Service Learning; Post Doctoral Residency Training; Educational Entrepreneurship and Disruptive Innovation as a Workforce Initiative.” Dr. David Okuji Dr. Okuji, Associate Director of Pediatric Dentistry presented, “Strategies to Assure Access and Equity: The Impact of Pediatric Dental Residency Training Programs on Access to Care for Vulnerable Populations” at the International Association for Pediatric Dentistry Meeting in Seoul, Korea in June, 2013. Dr. Walter Psoter, DDS, PhD and Ms. Andrea Levy, MPH, MA Dr. Psoter, Director and Ms. Levy, Assistant Director of LMC Dental Research presented a poster session “Assess U.S. State level public health and emergency planning leadership views of the dental profession as a surge response resource” at the IADR 10th World Congress on Preventive Dentistry in Budapest, Hungary in October, 2013. Increasing In-office Oral Cancer Screening: findings from Focus Groups American Association of Dental Research, Charlotte, NC, 2014 40 Dr. Psoter also presented “Recommendations to Dental Professionals on a Social and Organizational Level for Increasing OCS: A Qualitative Approach” at University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus Research Fair in 2014. Co-Authors: Díaz Rubayo D, Gavilanes-Méndez R, García O, Elías A. Drs. Reed and Okundaye provided a tutorial in Brooklyn in 2014 to run Sim Man Emergency Training sessions for the dental anesthesiology residents. This was a significant opportunity for the residents to learn from dental anesthesia experts. Dr. Marc Kunin Associate Director of LMC Dental’s Endodontic Program Dr. Kunin received a Best Poster Award on May 15, 2014 for his poster “Comparing Face-to-Face, Synchronous, and Asynchronous Learning Styles: Postgrad Resident Preferences,” during the Lutheran HealthCare sponsored Research Award Competition. Co-authors; Kell N. Julliard, MA, Tobias E. Rodriguez, PhD. Dr. Ken Reed chaired the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology (ADSA) meeting held in Las Vegas, February 14-15, 2014. He gathered an impressive array of nationally recognized speakers who presented on office based and ambulatory anesthesia related topics.
