The LBT teams wore their LBT branded
clothing and during the skippers briefing
and pre-registration the LBT looked very
intimidating and surely rattled some of the
other teams with their professionalism and
effort.
Competition days were scheduled to kick
off at 6am which meant nearly all teams
called it a night early and early alarms for
the following morning. The LBT were so
eager to get the show on the road that all
the LBT boats were on the water and
beached on the shoreline even before one
of the other competitors arrived a the
launching venue, adding to the intimidation
of the night before.
Day 1 was under away with Team Venom
Lures of the LBT taking off first and
immediately securing one of the few hot
spots on the dam, the fence line

dam wall. The weather was perfect with
only a slight wind blowing and clear sunny
skies. The fish were biting in the first hour or
two, but things quickly turned for the
worse.
The wind picked up and on a dam as big a
Heyshope, it is never a good things. stormy
waters and high waves meant for difficult
boating and anglers getting wet on a
regular basis. With some of the smaller
boats even saying hello to a few waves over
the bow of their boats.
