row . An awesome achievement showing that fishing is more than just luck .
The biggest bass for the day was weighed in by Ben Gottschalk of Team Venom Lures . Ben got bit on his Green pumpkin purple weightless Zoom fluke and landed a fish of 2.215kg , the only fish over 2kg ’ s to be weighed in for the day .
The March 2016 event shows that the fishing this year is a lot tougher with only 2 teams blanking during the 2016 event at Vygeboom .
In total 137 fish were weighed in with a total weight of 61.464kg and an average weight of 0.449kg per fish which is a decrease from the round 1 event a month earlier of 0.533kg .
Winning Patterns
At the end of the day first placed Team Venom Lures of Frank and Ben Gottschalk once again put a master class together which saw them winning the day by a massive 2.45kg deficit . Their second victory in a row . This after a stunning performance during the 2016 LBT final .

Once again they focus their efforts and time on a shallow bank with flooded grass in the 3-6ft range . Although they also agree with very tough fishing , they were around better quality fish .
the morning . They found an abundance of fish in 14ft water which fell for a drop-shot . They also had success with flukes and 3 decent fish were caught with jigs all in the 12-15ft range .
Third placed team Frogz of Niel Deysel and Burger Loots spent some time finding an old underwater grass line edge which was approximately 30m off shore in 8-15ft water . There just happened to be a raft anchored on the grass line . Fish used this grass line and raft as key points while travelling between deep and shallow water . They picked up all their fish under this raft with a texas rigged Zoom Speed Craw .

The second biggest bass of 1.725kg was weighed in by Team Passion 4 Bass .
The fish fell victim to Venom Lures Skip shads in Watermelon and Zoom Super Flukes in Watermelon orange and Green Pumpkin purple flake all rigged weightless . A perfect presentation for pressured bass .
Second placed team Just That of Alan Lubbe and 7 year old grandson , Blake Grobler , had a blast of a day already culling fish at 10:30
