THE 2016
EBASS FINAL DE HOOP DAM
The 2016 EBASS final took place at De Hoop dam over two days
(04 & 05 November 2016).
The event fishing hours were extended from
06h00 – 16h30 to give competitors the
opportunity to enjoy this fantastic bass
fishery to its fullest.
The early post spawn conditions made fishing
definitely not a walk in the park, but
perseverance, skills and experience was
rewarded with some huge bags.
Fishing for Saturday afternoon was severely
hampered by a massive thunder storm which
hit the dam around 14h00, making
conditions rather nasty.
With a few exceptions, to find the bass was a
bit of a hit and run affair. To be successful
anglers had to find the baitfish first and then
apply their knowledge and experience to
figure out how the bass will relate to baitfish.
For these Bass Masters the rewards were
massive and the top five ending up with
