has been incredible, with last week’s 5,96kg
Shad being weighed in; another of 5,2kgs
has hit the scales.
Blue Rays have been wild and most anglers
to spend time in the area have landed a fair
amount. There have been good reports of
Brusher from this area too.
Umkomaas River Mouth has produced
good numbers of smaller Kob over the
last week, and along with the Kob have
been the Snapper Salmon. These fish
are all taking small Chokka and Red
Eye baits. Many anglers have caught a
few Grunter and the odd flat fish too.
Harbour
Durban harbour has been fishing relatively
well and anglers who have spent time along
the banks would have been rewarded with
at least a couple of good sized Grunter. For
those who enjoy fishing for inedibles, there
have been a good number of flatfish on the
banks too, eating Cracker as well as bigger
Red Eye baits.
The odd Blue Ray has been landed off
Scottburgh Point, and quite a number of
Grey Sharks which have been caught on
Shad cutlet baits and Mackerel head. An
angler using McArthy Paddle tails landed a
decent sized Kob to the left of the point
during the week.
The Kingies seem to have disappeared from
the banks over the last week with only one
or two being landed earlier on in the week,
by an angler casting small Strike Pro diving
lures around the Yacht Moll. Large shoals of
Mullet have also been seen around Batt
Centre and Wilson Wharf, with a lot of
activity around them, which may be Kingies
or Garrick. Closer to the Piers, anglers with
boat access will be happy to know that thereare plenty of larger Kingies hunting in the
area and are readily taking lures.
At Port Shepstone there has been an
abundance of Shad, Bronze Bream and Kob
from the south of the Port Shepstone area,
along with a few good size Shad up to 4kgs
and a number of Garrick around as well.
Excellent catches of Stone Bream and
Blacktail have also been reported. Along

been landed along the Trafalgar stretch, the
