LOWVELD 2016 2016 2016 Lowveld Bass Trail Round 8: Injaka Dam, September 10th. A event for the last three events at Injaka! Even more spectacularly, team Bucket Mouth’s 10.415kg limit broke the LBT bag record set just a month earlier by team Angling & Outdoor World in August. They broke the current record by 0.065kg. stonishingly, we’ve reached the end of the 2016 LBT regular season! It doesn’t seem that long ago that we were all lining up at registration at Kwena Dam in February. Eight tournaments later, we’re now set for the LBT Final, but more about that a bit later… “ Team Bucket Mouth started their winning day at a small inlet alongside a small step-down. Joniel Marks fished a SPRO squarebill with a slow retrieve and got their first fish in this area. They then moved off to one of the many islands in the dam and lost a massive fish. They tried the main inlet with no success before moving off to fish the trees and got another fish near another drop, again on the SPRO squarebill. Saturday, 10 September 2016 saw thirty-four boats take part at the final round of the regular season at Injaka Dam. 145 bass were brought to the scale at an average of 0.867kg per fish. Only the De Hoop Dam tournament in May produced a better per-fish-average. Unfortunately two teams were disqualified for basic rule infringements. Of the remaining thirty-two teams, not one team blanked, which is extraordinary for Injaka Dam. In fact, an average of eleven teams have blanked per Angling Times Weekly SA ” 17 www.anglingtimes.co.za
