By Marilie Bomediano On March 21, people around the world celebrated World Down Syndrome Day. THIS year, Lollipops Playland Parramatta came on board as a major supporter of this day by donating the use of their indoor play centre for a special Down Syndrome NSW event. There was plenty of fun had by all – in addition to the climbing equipment, bouncy castles, indoor rock climbing and slides at Lollipops, there was a petting zoo, face painting, cup cake decorating and performances enjoyed. A highlight of the day was the world record attempt for the most people wearing the same type of socks. The event was part of an Australia wide fundraising drive, called ‘T 4321’. So far, almost $20,000 has been raised across NSW. Dax Kerai, owner of Lollipops Playland Parramatta wanted to support Down Syndrome NSW as one of her employees has a child with Down syndrome and has valued the support and information she has received from Down Syndrome NSW.
