Riding for the poor

FILIPINO-Australian cyclists in Canberra will conduct a Charity Ride For The Poor on Saturday and Sunday , December 9-10 .
The ride will take the cyclists from Jindabyne to Thredbo over the two days .
Cyclists from different clubs across the ACT are expected to turn up for the ride in support of ANCOP ( Answering The Cry Of The Poor ) towards the education of children of poor families in the Philippines .
Donations raised by the cyclists will go towards school tuition , uniforms , shoes , books and school supplies .
They will also provide annual medical and dental check-ups as well as field trips and other school-related activities on ‘ values formation ’

Bugayong bags Mickey ’ s Cup

BERT Bugayong , a member of Sydney Jokers social golf club , won the 14th Mickey ’ s Cup at Fox Hills golf club course on August 20 , 2017 with a score of 38 points from a handicap of 13 , under the stableford system .
He received a trophy and a cash prize of $ 250 donated by Jokers ’ founding president Albert Dionisio .
First runner-up was Prescila Keogh with a score of 37 points from a handicap of 9 winning by count-back . She received a trophy and a cash prize of $ 100 courtesy of birthday celebrant Mickey Cabillo .
Second runner-up was Jun Nicolas with a score of 37 points from a handicap of 34 on a count-back . He received a

trophy and a cash prize of $ 50 donated by Jokers president Ralph Posadas .
Winners for nearest-the-pins ( NTP ) and best drive-and-pitch ( DAP ) received $ 25 each courtesy of Jess Arranz . Winners were Jun Nicolas ( NTP on hole 3 ), Romy Tablizo ( DAP ) on hole 7 ), Jonathan Parva ( DAP on hole 15 ) and Tim Keogh ( NTP on hole 15 ).
Before the tournament , golfers were given ham sandwiches , fruits and drinks courtesy of Mickey Cabillo .
The Mickey ’ s Cup , now on its 14th year , was held to celebrate Mickey Cabillo ’ s 62nd birthday on August 30 , 2017 . It was coordinated by Sydney Jokers golf club headed by Ralph Posadas .

Ramos reaps top reward

Roehl Oringo , of Canberra , riding through the last 2kms of the 100km Capital Punishment Mountain Bike Race .
They won medallions and $ 100 cash each .
Novelty prizes were awarded to each class on all holes with $ 20 each for either nearest-the-pin , best drive-and-pitch , and longest drive .
Wilma Bacucang , the Filcos Fairfield president , acknowledged the assistance of the Filcos Fairfield officers and volunteers who did the cooking and brought desserts
Abe Amores acknowledged the support of Fairgolf , Pogi , ParE , Puro , Sydney Metro and others as well as sponsors of the trophies such as the family of late Cosme and Soring Cabaltera and J & S Enterprises .
The Golf tournament was sponsored by Fairgolf Social golf club , with proceeds going towards the various ministry projects of Filcos Fairfield Inc . •

ANTHONY Ramos , of Strathfield / Homebush West , won the 2017 Filcos Fairfield fundraising golf tournament held on Sunday , 27th August 2017 at Rosnay Golf Course .
Ramos scored 44 points under the stableford scoring system on a handicap of 17 with Jokers Social golf club .
He took home a trophy and $ 450 cash with the privilege of having his name engraved in the perpetual trophy .
Class / division winners with their stableford points score and handicaps were : Craig Johnston ( 41 / 14 ) for A and Noel Manansala ( 41 / 21 ) for B . They won trophies and $ 200 cash each . Class / division runners-up with their stableford points score and handicaps Fred Bacucang ( 39 / 13 ) for A and Danny Principe ( 37 / 25 ) for B .
