NEWS New GonGen hits the ground running ONE day after her arrival in Sydney from the Philippines, the 18th Consul General for NSW, Maria Teresa L. Taguiang attended the Philippine Community Council NSW Philippine Independence Day Ball at Sydney’s Four Seasons Hotel. By VIOLI CALVERT The following day she was at the golf for the Philippine Airlines Kalayaan Cup, and on Saturday, June 16, at the Pista Sa Nayon of the Alliance of Philippine Community Organisations (PCC-NSW). She then hosted a Filipino community gathering for the Consulate's official Independence Day celebration. Ms Taguiang held the position of Consul General in Osaka, Japan, from June 2012 to December 2016 She was also the permanent representative to United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific (UNESCAP) Central Depository of Armenia (CDA) in the absence of the Ambassador to Japan at the time. Ms Taguiang completed a Bachelor of Science degree in business economics and a Master of Arts degree in economics at the University of the Philippines.
