Catriona is already in the heat of pre-pageant contests and so far she’s doing well. She landed in the semi-final round of the talent competition where she sang a rendition of ‘Moon River’. Born in Queensland, Australia, Catriona, 22 is a fashion and commercial model, a singer and a much-followed travel blogger (cat’elle.com). Gray was born an Australian father and a Filipino mother from Oas, Albay. In 2007 she was a finalist in the Girlfriend Magazine modelling competition in Australia, subsequently Gray signed with a major modelling agent in Australia that opened doors for her modelling career in Asia. The said competition has discovered a number of top models and Hollywood stars. After finishing high school studies in Australia, she made the decision to move to Manila where she immediately gained popularity as one of the most celebrated and sought-after models in the country. Within a few months of arriving in Manila, and still just 18, she was featured as one of Cosmo magazine's eight sexiest models in the Philippines. “I still get goosebumps being labeled as Miss World Philippines because I never planned this, it s my first pageant ever. I started off as a model, so it’s a different world now,” Catriona was quoted as saying recently in an Inquirer article on her meeting the Filipino-American community. The pageant will be held in Washington, DC. The last time the Philippines won the Miss World pageant was in 2013 with Megan Young winning the crown.
