DSWD amends guidelines on CSOs accreditation

QUEZON CITY -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development ( DSWD ) recently amended the “ Guidelines on the Accreditation of Civil Society Organizations ( CSOs ) as beneficiaries of DSWD projects and programs .”
The move was made to simplify the accreditation process and address various policy issues
raised during the implementation of the old guidelines , Memorandum Circular No . 13 series of 2017 .
DSWD officer-incharge Emmanuel Leyco said , “ We have expedited the process of accreditation to make it more responsive to the conditions of our CSO partners .”
Leyco stressed that the simplified process still calls for the stringent scrutiny of submitted documents to ensure the legitimacy , proven track record and good standing in undertaking civil society works of the applicant CSOs .
Under the amended guidelines , the applying beneficiary CSO must duly accomplish the accreditation application form . The applicant is also required to submit documentary requirements continue to page 2
The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office headed by Ms . Felipa Servañez in cooperation with the Federation of Senior Citizen Association of Cavite hosted a Christmas Party attended by a total of 635 senior citizens on December 19 , 2017 at the Provincial Gymnasium , Trece Martires City . Mr . Alvin Mojica , PCLEDO Head and PSWDO Consultant , assured the elderlies that Governor Boying Remulla and the rest of the provincial officials will start early in the preparation and approval of the programs and projects for the welfare of the elders . A dance presentation was rendered by senior citizens from Maragondon prompting everybody to dance to the beat . Other surprise numbers included songs , harmonica playing and another dance presentation . Gifts from the officers of the Federation were raffled in addition to the other big items prepared for everyone . The oldest participant in the party , a centenarian aged 108 received cash gift .
MANILA -- The Philippine Red Cross ( PRC ) is all set for this year ’ s ‘ Traslacion ’ or the procession of the Black Nazarene in Manila on Tuesday , 09 January 2018 .
More than 2,000 Red Cross personnel and volunteers are ready to man their nine first aid stations , medical unit , emergency medical unit , amphibian , one 6x6 truck , one fire truck , one rescue truck , two humvees , four plastic boats , and welfare desks in some receiving hospitals .

ONE of the provincial government ’ s priority agenda for 2018 are the programs that aim to assist the Cavite ’ s senior citizens . The projects for the elderly were announced before the 635 members of Cavite ’ s Federation of Senior Citizen Associations by the chief of the Cavite Provincial Cooperative , Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office , Alvin Mojica . Mojica also serves as a consultant for the Provincial Social Welfare and devotion to the Black Nazarene , it has been like a devotion for us as well at the Red Cross to ensure the health , safety and well-being of the devotees during the height of the Traslacion ,” said PRC Chairman Richard Gordon .
He added that last year , PRC has served 2,566 people for medical needs .

PDEA Academy Opens 5,000 Slots for Drug Enforcement

THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency ( PDEA ) Academy officially opens on 5,000 slots for applicants to the Drug Enforcement Officer Basic Course ( DEOBC ) Qualifying Examinations .
Interested individuals must be at least 21-35 years of age with a minimum of 5 feet 2 inches height for males and 5 feet for females . Applicants must also be a baccalaureate degree holder and a Civil Service ( 2nd level ) eligible for a professional / board examination passer , as qualified by Civil Service Commission ( CSC ) under special laws .
Applicants may personally submit , send via courier or email the documentary requirements such as an original and fully filled up personal data sheet ( CSC Form No 212 , revised 2017 ) and letter of intent / application , addressed to PDEA Director-General Aaron N . Aquino .
Other requirements to be submitted include photocopies of National Statistics Office ( NSO ) - issued birth certificate , National Commission for Indigenous Peoples ( NCIP ) -issued height waiver , official transcript of records , college diploma , certificate of eligibility , and report of rating .
Those who wish to personally submit their requirements may go to PDEA Academy Liaison Office / Clinic located at PDEA National Office , NIA Northside Road , National Government Center , Barangay Pinyahan , Quezon City .
If via courier service , applicants may send their documents to PDEA Academy , Camp Gen Mariano N . Castañeda , Tartaria , Silang , Cavite 4118 or to PDEA Regional Office IV-A at Camp Vicente Lim in Barangay Mayapa , Calamba City .
