CRAIG BAKER
For Craig Baker, winning the title was all about not taking things too seriously. The Modifi ed champ tells us “coming back
from Alice Springs where we went out in the fi rst round, we realised the pressure to win was hanging over us. We decided to
just focus on having fun and having a good weekend away. From there, things started to just turn around for us. We started
going rounds and particularly at the two rounds at Calder Park, everything just sort of came together for us, our family was
there and everyone was enjoying it, and we had great success.”
For this season, Baker will be applying a similar approach: taking each round as it comes and focusing on having fun, instead
of worrying about winning the next title. In the meantime, he sends a special thank you to his wife Audrey, for keeping him
calm and keeping things ticking along. Without her, he says, it would be so much more diffi cult.
