I feel very proud and excited to be announced the Super Street Divisional Champion. A lot of time and eff ort is spent working on my race car by my husband Matt Gullotto and the team at SCM Race Engines, so it is really nice to reward and acknowledge their hard work with the Super Street divisional win. If you had to pick out your top three moments from the last season, what would they be? Winning the Nitro Slam event in January; Winning the Westernationals Gold Christmas Tree, seeing the pride on my husband’s face back in the pits and celebrating with all the crew and supporters afterwards; and coming up against Top Qualifi er Joel Trottman in the fi nal at the Westernationals Event with the same dial- in for a good old ‘heads up’ race and taking the win. What do you love about racing? I love the challenge of each race and the focus that is required before you go out. It is a great sense of personal achievement when you manage to run a good race with a quick reaction time and close dial-in time. I also love coming back to the pit area after a successful race and seeing the excitement and joy from my husband, the crew and all the supporters. That in itself makes all the hard work worth it! Also, drag racing for me is about having fun and spending quality time with family and friends. The drags really is a ‘racing family’ and it is a sport that I am extremely proud to be a part of. How did you get into racing? 32 fastlane fast My husband and his family have been racing for many years so when I started dating Matt, I joined his crew and he started explaining the concept of drag racing to me and I absolutely loved it. After we got married, he decided that his wedding present to me would be a VN SS (which is my all-time favourite car) and he told me I was going to race it. Three seasons later, he still can’t wipe the smile off my face every time I sit in the car! What are your plans for the coming season? I am actually due to have a baby in September this year, so my husband Matt Gullotto will be racing next season in Super Sedan however I am hoping to come back for a few meets later in the 2018/2019 season. Is there anyone you would like to thank for being part of your drag racing journey? There are defi nitely many people I would like to thank for being part of my racing journey. Firstly, a huge thank you to my husband, Matt Gullotto, for allowing me the opportunity to race such a consistent car in Super Street and for always being there to support and encourage me throughout the journey. I couldn’t have done it without him. I would also like to thank Sandro Principe and Carmelo Gullotto from SCM Race Engines for all their help with the engine, and Michael Crossing from Race On Customs for the car set-up. Big thanks also has to go to my crew, Matt, Denis, Jared and Natalie for always being by my side on the track. And of course, thanks to my parents (Denis and Sophie), my in-laws (Cristina and Carmelo), family and friends for all their love and support. Lastly, thanks to all the Super street competitors for all the great races throughout the season and to the Ray Treasure, the track staff , commentators and volunteers for making it all possible!
