ANDRA CHAIRMAN RETIRES FROM THE BOARD
Back in July , ANDRA Chairman Michael Fotheringham advised the Board that he would stand down from the Board due to work commitments . His term as Chairman expired at the end of July 2016 .
Michael has been both on the Board and as Chairman for almost 3 years .
“ My business is merging with another legal practice and this needs my undivided attention which does not allow me to continue as a volunteer Chairman with the hours required ,” he said .
“ I will continue to provide any and all assistance to the ANDRA Board and the ANDRA staff but in the short term I need to focus on my own business priorities at this time .
“ I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as Chairman and in particular I have loved meeting so many new people who I would now call friends .
“ I thank the Board , members and the hard working staff at ANDRA for their support and look forward to staying in touch with many of you while being a spectator of this great sport .”
The Board is currently considering a replacement Chairman and will pursue the filling of existing vacancies . An announcement on these matters will be made soon .
The Board and management sincerely thank Michael for his leadership and enormous number of voluntary hours put in during his time on the Board and as Chairman .
ANDRA DRAG RACING RETURNS TO PERTH MOTORPLEX
In August VenuesWest selected ANDRA as the preferred respondent in the bid for sanctioning at Perth Motorplex .
On September 8 it was made official as VenuesWest advised the VenuesWest and Perth Motorplex mailing lists that ANDRA had been officially confirmed as the drag racing sanctioning body at Perth Motorplex .

The Australian National Drag Racing Association ( ANDRA ) has now been confirmed as the drag racing sanctioning body for Perth Motorplex .
VenuesWest is working with ANDRA to plan a smooth transition for the venue and for alternatively licensed drivers .
ANDRA has confirmed they will offer credit for current International Hot Rod Association ( IHRA ) licence holders when purchasing an ANDRA unlimited Group Two or Three licence or a Group One licence . A credit of $ 50 will be applied where the licence expires in six months or less , and $ 100 if the licence is valid for more than six months .
In addition , ANDRA will recognise a competitor ’ s valid IHRA medical certificate for a period of up to two years from their commencement date .
ANDRA has also confirmed they will hold a free technical inspection day at Perth Motorplex at a date to be set shortly .
Two ANDRA Championship events will be held at Perth Motorplex this season .
The Goldenstates Drag Racing Championships will run on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 February 2017 , and Westernational Drag Racing Championships on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 March 2017 .
Our new Perth Motorplex General Manager Shane Walsh is working hard with the team to get ready for an exciting season of speedway racing , drag racing and burnouts .
