SKILL LEVEL: Open to all
CONCEPT: This is a class specifically designed
to introduce beginners to the fun of woodturning. While it may be intimidating at first, Keith
shows each of us how to navigate the craft
safely. We begin with simple techniques and
then apply them to simple projects while progressively building our skills along the way.
CONCEPT: Have you ever wanted to make
unique wooden jewelry? This class explores
how to create elegant wooden wearable art
using the lathe. All basic aspects of techniques
are covered, so no experience is required: just
bring your creativity! We explore how to combine these wooden elements with metal findings to create beautiful earrings, necklaces and
bracelets. We discuss jewelry design, utilizing
scale, intricacy (or simplicity) plus craftsmanship to create one-of-a-kind pieces.
