Gregorio, Debt Row, Welcome to Karmaville (detail) July 5 - 9 July 12 - 16 July 12 - 16 Tom Burckhardt & Fred Tomaselli    Diana Cooper    Skill Level: IV, portfolio review required Skill Level: III Concept: Work at your own pace in the studio on original work, pausing daily for a 45-minute to one-hour discussion and critique. Topics are in-depth and wide-ranging including technique, concept and approach. Concept:  Explore the relationship between drawing and the third dimension. Drawing is treated as a circular path rather than a oneway street leading into the three-dimensional world. We investigate work in sculpture and installation to challenge and reinvigorate their relationships to drawing and vice versa. Skill Level: II Media & Techniques: We emphasize the vital role materials play in the making of art, provoking us to think about why we choose the materials we do and how they reflect our conceptual and visual concerns. Media & Techniques:  Acrylic paint is preferred due to time limitations, unless oil is your usual medium. Studio Critique Media & Techniques: Although primarily a painting class, we encourage participation by sculptors, photographers, media artists and others.
