Doug Casebeer, artistic director
Ceramics, furniture design & woodworking,
woodturning and Sculpture
Doug is in his 25th year of running workshops at the
Ranch. He received his MFA in ceramics from Alfred
University in New York and his BFA from Wichita State
University. Doug teaches, lectures, builds kilns and exhibits
his artwork worldwide. He has served as pottery consultant to the
United Nations and the German government. Doug’s service to the
field has involved outreach in rural Jamaican schools, technical
support and assistance for Nepali potters, and advising art centers
in Chile and Hawaii. His artwork is in collections around the world,
including a permanent installation in 2007 at the Yingge Museum of

Matt Christie, artistic director
printmaking
Matt holds a BFA from the University of Denver, an MFA
from Virginia Commonwealth University and has
over 28 years of experience collaborating with artists on
print projects. He has taught at RISD and the University
of Georgia’s study abroad program in Cortona, Italy. He served as a
professional printer at Shark’s Ink in Lyons, Colorado, for over 15

Paul collins, artistic director
Painting, Drawing and critical studies
Paul holds an MFA in Painting and Printmaking from
Yale University and a BA from Dartmouth College. He
is a graduate of Skowhegan School of Painting and
Sculpture and was an artist in residence at Anderson
Ranch from ’91-’93. He has taught at RISD and shown his work at

andrea wallace, artistic director

and chair of summer workshops
Andrea Wallace received her MFA from the University
of Colorado at Boulder. Before coming to the Ranch, she
worked as Assistant Professor at Lake Forest College
and Willamette University. Her film, Rochell and Brian,
a documentary about teenage pregnancy, premiered at the New York
International Independent Film Festival in 2006. She has exhibited
nationally and internationally with numerous shows throughout the

sarabeth Berk, program coordinator
Children’s Program and Outreach
Sarabeth grew up in the Roaring Fork Valley and returned
in 2007 after pursuing an undergraduate degree in Visual
and Critical Studies at the Art Institute of Chicago and
completing her Masters of Art in Teaching Art and
Design Education at RISD. Sarabeth taught art at the Island School
in the Bahamas and is a certified K-12 art educator. Call Sarabeth at

The Ranch has a variety of scholarships available. Each year,
approximately 20% of our students receive assistance. See

a word about Adult workshop
pricing...
Throughout the catalog you will notice a “Tuition Price” and
a “Studio Support Cost.” Through its fundraising efforts the
Ranch underwrites each adult student on average of $200 per
week. Many have asked to know the Studio Support Cost of a
workshop and have offered to pay it.
Based on the outstanding response we received last year to
this concept, we again give you the choice: when you sign
up for a class, there may be two prices listed. You can either
pay the “Tuition Price” or the “Studio Support Cost.” The difference between the “Tuition Price” and the “Studio Support
Cost” is a tax-deductible donation to the Ranch.
