CONCEPT: This class is designed to teach students not only how to draw recognizable
objects, but to develop new ways of seeing
the world. We focus on the most basic design
element: the line. Students learn a variety of
methods to enhance fundamental drawing
skills. Working entirely from observation, we
explore a wide range of media to produce several finished drawings throughout the week.
Perfect for the absolute beginner.
CONCEPT: The great outdoors near Anderson
Ranch is our source material for drawings and
paintings in water-based media, primarily ink
and gouache. Each day we drive to a different
site to draw directly from nature, concentrating
on close-up images of flowers, rocks and other

Come discover a wonderful collection of
books on artists, art theory and criticism,
plus children’s toys, gift items and original artworks by artists affiliated with the
Ranch. ArtWorks Store features a great collection of Anderson Ranch branded textile
items such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats,
aprons and tote bags that make perfect mementos of yo
