Clay is a beautiful and functional medium,
and what is better than creating your own
pots, dishes, utensils and trivets for a special
family recipe? Students make at least one
special baking dish, salad bowl or other serving piece as well as clay tile trivets. We learn
handbuilding and design techniques, ending
the week with a collective feast prepared in
our own pottery!
Evelyn Siegel has taught generations of students both at Anderson Ranch and at Fort
Worth Country Day School in her home state
of Texas. Many of her students have become
professional potters, painters, artistic designers and historians.

Ollie into this workshop and make a major
statement the next time you ride! This experience is for skateboard enthusiasts of all types
who want to add that unique edge to their
boards. We begin by looking at skateboard
designs and then transfer our own ideas with
special paint onto our own decks. After adding
wheels, grip tape and final assembly, we road
test our one-of-a-kind creations.
Come explore the rich tradition of Native
American beading! We learn to weave on a
traditional bead loom with colorful embroidery
threads for the warp. We also experiment with
a Comanche style, off loom, ladder and brick
pattern. Choose from many traditional bead
designs or make up your own unique pattern.
Native American stories and myths are woven
into each day’s activities along with beading
symbols and their meanings.
