Topics are in-depth and wide-ranging, including technique, concept and approach. Although primarily a sculpture class, we encourage participation by sculptors, painters, photographers, media artists and others. Artists are expected to find an object (anything) that can be the focal or starting point of a sculpture, using found materials and incorporating self-generated forms into the piece. Intuition and experimentation are encouraged. Artists finish their work on the last day of the workshop when there is a final group critique. Media & Techniques:  Found materials and self-generated forms. Artists participating in this workshop are expected to be comfortable with tool use and be self-motivated. Activities: Students work in the studio on original work. Faculty and student talks take place each day for 45 minutes to an hour, but students are expected to work the entire class time. Faculty:  Huma Bhabha was born in Karachi, Pakistan. She received her MFA from Columbia University. Her work appeared in The 2010 Whitney Biennial, curated by Francesco Bonami and Gary Carrion-Murayari. She has exhibited widely in North America and Europe.
