ANDERSON RANCH CAMPUS & AREA GENERAL INFORMATION
Anderson Ranch Arts Center is nestled among the high peaks of the Rocky Mountains in the resort community of Snowmass Village,
Colorado, 10 miles west of Aspen and 160 miles west of Denver. The beautiful campus sits at the head of the Brush Creek Valley at 8,200
feet in elevation.
The region is an outdoor destination surrounded by millions of acres of open, protected wilderness. Miles of trails, rivers and public access to scenic and historic sites provide premier access to a range of mountain activities. Cultural activities abound all summer long with
concerts, performances and exhibitions presented by the Aspen Music Festival, Jazz Aspen Snowmass, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, Theatre
Aspen, and the Aspen Art Museum, to name a few. Visit www.aspenchamber.org for more information on this spectacular area.
The Ranch has 14 buildings on five well-kept acres. Workshops are held in fully-equipped studios. Students in all disciplines have opportunities to meet together on campus over meals in the café, in the library, in the store, at gallery openings, exhibitions and events, and
throughout our surroundings to share new friendships and inspire new work.
The Ranch offers an active public events program, consisting of high-quality presentations on visual arts in all of its subject areas. Several
times a week throughout the summer, faculty and visiting artists share images of their work and discuss the inspiration behind them. A
schedule is available in printed format by late May and online at our website. Workshop participants are encouraged to attend; the lectures
are free and open to the public. Our Patton Malott and Gartner Galleries showcase work by Anderson Ranch, regional and national artists
with receptions scheduled throughout the workshop season.
