Download your favorite MP3 and shoot the next MTV-worthy music video. Combining digital filmmaking, iMovie and editing techniques, students direct and even star in the music video of their dreams. Students work independently and collaboratively to help make each video a success and learn about the different roles it takes to produce a video. Each day starts with a production schedule consisting of set-ups, rehearsals, shoots and retakes. After shooting is complete, students begin video editing. Our music videos are debuted for friends and family at the premiere on Friday. Come discover the incredible folk arts created in Mexico! We look at various regions and villages to see how the local artisans create their livelihood via art. We create piñatas with papiermâché, papel picado (paper banners) with tissue paper, imitation black ceramics with clay, calaveras (sugar skulls) in honor of Day of the Dead, bottle cap pins and magnets, and metal repousse (drawing in metal) boxes. Hilary Forsyth has traveled to and learned from Oaxacan artisans so this week will be especially informative. Let’s decorate the garden! Join us for a unique workshop in which we use clay to create adornments for your outside oasis. Wind chimes, beautiful coil flower pots and even a garden gnome or two pop up in our week together. We learn handbuilding and design techniques and create many whimsical pieces that will decorate your garden for years to come. Music Video Production Joel Lee is a videographer and editor.
