ages 6 - 8 June 11 - 15 Creepy Crawly Creations Guinevere Jones Ages: 6 to 8 / 1 - 4 pm Tuition: $275 / Studio Fee: $15 Code: K0202 Enrollment Limit: 15 Get ready to use fluffy, slimy and long-legged creatures as inspiration for art! Gathering our creativity from visits by real-life critters from the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies, we explore a variety of printmaking techniques. Students create everything from solar prints to monoprints and even try their hands at traditional Japanese style printmaking. We also experiment with the creative suminagashi technique using floating Sumi Ink and explore texture while creating collagraph prints. Guinevere Jones finds her artistic inspiration in nature and found objects. Her fascination with design-based nature art started in New Zealand while studying Maori design. She is interested in continuing to build on her eight years of teaching by seeking out new learning experiences. Guinevere is the art teacher at Basalt Middle School. 62 June 18 - 22 Art Exploration for Artists with Special Needs Jointly presented with Challenge Aspen Sonya Taylor Moore All ages / All disabilities / 9 - 11:30 am Tuition: $600 / Studio Fee: $15 Code: K0303 Enrollment Limit: 14 Stretch your imagination! Artists of all abilities explore creativity through a variety of media and techniques. The emphasis of the workshop is on process versus product, with each day dedicated to different mediums from clay to watercolor. The goal is for students to develop critical thinking skills, take risks and experience success. Original artwork is created daily and shown at our extraordinary art show for friends and family at the end of the week. Sonya Taylor Moore is the Children’s and Outreach Coordinator at Anderson Ranch.
