basic lathe skills and some general woodworking experience
will accelerate your advancement.

FACULTY: Malcolm Tibbetts has been a worker of wood since
childhood, and he has been a segmented woodturning artist
for the past 15 years. His work can be found in many collections and museums around the world, and he has received
numerous awards for his art. A full-time studio artist and the
author of The Art of Segmented Woodturning, he is recognized as one of the most innovative segmenters in the world.

CONCEPT: Creativity, where ideas come from, and how to
develop and take them forward will be our focus in this workshop. While some of the exercises will confirm what we all
know and do, there will be others that broaden and deepen an
understanding of the creative process. Gaining expertise with
tools is important, but discovering the contents of one’s “creative tool box” is essential in moving forward with ideas.
