certificate program: A FOCUSED COURSE OF STUDY This year Anderson Ranch introduces our Certificate Program, which offers a focused course of study in seven separate artmaking disciplines: Ceramics, Film & Digital Photography, Furniture Design, New Media, Painting & Drawing, Printmaking, Sculpture and Woodturning. The Certificate Program is designed to give students the necessary skills, analytical tools and resources to establish a solid practice in their chosen medium. The program is open to all and there are no prerequisites. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone interested in following a wellplanned course of study in a non-accredited environment, rooted in the Ranch’s long history of program excellence and high aesthetic standards. Anderson Ranch Certificate Programs are tailored for students who are new to the field as well as those who are practicing artists and who wish to enhance their skills through professional development. Courses in the certificate curricula build from core competencies to advanced levels, balancing theory and practice as appropriate to each discipline. In order to participate in this program, you need only declare your intention to do so at the time of registration. There is no extra cost and no limitation on the number of years required to complete the certificate program. All courses must be taken at Anderson Ranch; students can apply courses taken at Anderson Ranch within the last four years prior to entering the Certificate Program, subject to the approval of the respective Program Director. Although no grades will be given, Faculty must confirm the student has satisfactorily completed each course. The Certificate Programs require a minimum number of hours of coursework that vary by program, as outlined below.
