children ages 9-12 July 13 - 17 MEDIA & TECHNIQUES: Students will use a felting needle to work with dry wool roving and learn how to work with soap and water to felt. Pipe cleaners will be used to create an inner structure that is wrapped in wool and then felted. Enamored with Copper Enamel  Evelyn Siegel    Ages 10 and up, Mon. - Fri., 1:30 - 4:00 pm Tuition: $250 Code: K0712  Enrollment Limit 10 CONCEPT:  Students will learn how to create beautiful, sparkling and colorful metallic designs using the process of copper enamel. Copper enameling is a method of adhering glazes onto copper in a small kiln, similar to glazing ceramics, and is something you won’t find in an ordinary classroom. Unlike working with clay, you won’t get your hands dirty, but creating these sophisticated works of art requires concentration and attention to detail. MEDIA & TECHNIQUES: Students will be making jewelry, precut forms, functional items and working on flat sheets of copper. ACTIVITIES: Students will be using copper, glazes and precut forms to make flat or concave creations. Special tools will help in applying glaze to metal, which will then be heated in a special kiln.
