CONCEPT: This course will develop foundation art skills, allowing artists of all abilities and media to explore design in a safe
and fun environment. Emerging and experienced artists will
explore the basic tenets of art and design skills through a
series of short exercises and charrettes, investigating the
translation of two-dimensional representations into threedimensional realities. This course will be very hands-on, challenging each student to examine the use of point, line, plane,
volume, color, contrast, shade, and form. These fundamental
skills can strengthen an abstract painting, a functional ceramic
pitcher, or a sculpture that occupies space. Ch
