Get ready to use fluffy, slimy and long-legged creatures
as inspiration for art! Join us as we create colorful and
quirky animals seen through the eyes of famous artists,
designers and illustrators such as Jay Ryan and Edie
Harper. Each day we spend time creating unique animal
artworks using a variety of mixed media including
cardboard, oil pastels, paint, glue, papier-mâché, and
more! Our creative agenda features a mix of small animal
sculpture, illustration, printmaking, and collage, both
imagined and realistic.
During this workshop students will explore a variety
of artistic elements to create and perform their own
collaborative puppet show! Daily activities include
creating puppets out of natural and reclaimed materials,
designing unique sets and scenery, learning puppetry
movement techniques, and rehearsing a story to perform
for friends and family on the last day. Each student will
take home a handmade puppet of their own design.
Students will use a variety of artistic mediums such as
papier-mâché, paint, cardboard and fabric to help bring
our story to life!
