Crenshaw SKILL LEVEL: Open to all SKILL LEVEL: II - IV SKILL LEVEL: I - III CONCEPT: Learn to use a CNC plasma cutter for steel and a laser cutter for paper and cardboard and discover ways of creating digital drawings, cutting shapes out of sheet materials, and assembly techniques. The first week covers the fundamentals of the steel shop, the second week students are guided through the creative process. The implementation of digital processes are introduced and emphasized. Week two focuses on applying new skills as students “put it all together” and pursue their own creative visions. CONCEPT: This advanced course develops concepts through the use of Rhino CAD (computer aided design) software. Students take the concepts and use the software to render a 2-D or 3-D model.
