#NoMeanGirls

An excerpt from Plaid for Women co-founder Sarah Zink's blog.

All too often, it's easy to point the finger and say 'Those men are holding me down', or 'He's blocking my success', or my all-time favorite: "It's because of the 'good old boys club."

My belief is that we, as women, are the problem. Think about any given day in your life, or the life of your friends. You snark about another woman's clothes, her hair, her choice of shoes or makeup. You talk about she got to where she is by sleeping her way to the top, or worse - stepping on the backs of the women she works with. You fear another woman's success, so you (intentionally or not) sabotage her work.

It's time to stop the psychological violence we inflict on one another via being 'mean girls' and begin to use our superpowers for good. Stop being mean, stop participating in 'mean girl' activities, as much as you can, stop your children, your friends and your family from being a mean girl. You can change the world today, right now, by supporting the #NoMeanGirls campaign.

"Plaid was created to change the culture for women - how we think of ourselves, how we embrace our power, and how we treat one another."
