An ACTON Story | Page 11

But the story doesn't end there. Like the true champion she is Ceinwen took part in San Francisco's Alcatraz swim a few days after the Catalina swim and placed third. She and Andy then climbed the incredible and daunting Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. Later in 2013 she took part in the Augusta Adventure Race. In between all this she continues to train and motivate her clients, and be inspired in turn. Before the Adventure Race she wrote in her blog: "Some girls I train have just completed their first marathon and half marathon, raising money for a children's charity. Two guys I train did the 200km bike ride to cure cancer. Another few are heading off to do the Cape to Cape Mountain Bike, whilst nine ladies I train just completed the 100km Oxfam Walk in Perth. One amazing friend has organised for old clothes to be sent to the thousands of Syrian refugees in the Sweaters for Syria campaign. Others turn up to training every week without fail and give me 100 percent of their efforts, despite being tired, upset, or busy, they always leave with a big smile and gratitude. "I am still working on my goals for after the adventure race, but in the short term I will keep pushing others to create and work towards goals of their own. I will be healthier, eat well, and give whatever I can to others that are not as fortunate as me. To be strong and to get through the 'bad times' when they arise. To handle times of difficulty in the most cheerful positive way I can. To live a life I can look back on and think 'yep I have done alright, I made the world a better place.'" We may not all be able to complete an open water swim, but we can all aim to be champions to be the best of our ability and help make the world a better place in whatever way we can. WWW.ACTON.COM.AU
