The Executive Board of Phoenix Contact is repositioning itself for the new decade
Professor Gunther Olesch and Roland Bent , two faces of Phoenix Contact who have shaped the company for decades , will leave the Executive Board in 2020 / 21 . These are big shoes to fill . Business Area . He will retain this role , “ enriched “ in the future with his new responsibilities as Chief Operating Officer ( COO ).

new COOs will be joined by Dr . Frank Possel-Dölken on the Executive Board . He will be taking on the role of Chief Digital Officer ( CDO ), thus bundling and strengthening the digitalization of technology and process development .
Axel Wachholz as CFO and Frank Stührenberg as CEO will continue to perform their duties almost unchanged . And , to paraphrase the author J . K .

Rowling , they will never really leave us . Roland Bent is more likely to go into retirement after February 2021 , as the then 63-year-old will be active as Chief Representative for Phoenix Contact in the area of international standardization . He will also perform his honorary functions in the field of national and international standardization .

Successful subsidiary expands production with plant in Poland
The Protiq team mastered printing copper some time ago . But the 3D printing professionals from Blomberg are constantly working on new , innovative processes . Now they have made their next coup public .
The heating behavior of inductors is crucial for efficiency in their field of application . However , until the optimum coil is obtained , many test geometries usually have to be produced in conventional manufacturing processes and tested in real heating trials . This is costly and time-consuming . Protiq has now developed a computer-aided simulation to visualize the behavior of the coils in the process and thus determine an optimized inductor geometry .
Electromobility is booming – with even greater vehemence . As a technology leader in the field of charging technology , Phoenix Contact E-Mobility had to act in order to meet the needs of its customers on time . But there is no room for a significant growth in size at the Schieder site .
So a European solution was needed . The Polish location Rzeszów-Dworzysko , about 100 kilometers west of the border with Ukraine , was chosen .
The new , approximately 15,000-square meter plant in the local science and technology park is scheduled to open its doors around New Year ’ s 2021 . Around
70 employees will start in Rzeszów , and by 2023 the workforce is expected to grow to more than 250 .
