Welcome to the Phoenix Contact digital trade fair
Innovation at a distance
The new Dialog Days format a complete success
After the cancellation of the
Hannover Messe due to the
COVID-19 pandemic, Phoenix
Contact ventured into a new
format. The Dialog Days were
intended to reach customers
and interested parties digitally.
The German event took place
from April 20 to April 30, and the
international version followed
from April 27 to May 8. The
virtual visitors were able to
attend a series of lectures, panel
discussions, live chats, and virtual
tours of the trade fair held in eight
languages.
The 19 tour guides came from
Argentina, Brazil, China, Germany,
Mexico, Poland, and the USA. And
were themselves connected live
from within their home countries.
The organization was timed
so that visitors were received
at their respective local time –
made possible by the globally
networked digital world. It was
only the “trade fair management
team” that was active around
the clock.
The response exceeded
all expectations. Around
2,100 visitors registered for
the German part of the Dialog
Days alone. More than 1,000
of them took advantage of the
opportunity to obtain more
detailed information through the
chat function, where specific
questions were answered directly.
More than 1,300 customers
and other interested parties
also attended the extensive
specialized conferences.
The international response
was even more impressive. We
consider well over 8,100 active
participants to be a huge success
for a completely new, completely
digital format. And everyone who
embarked on the adventure of
the digital event was eager to
learn: Around 3,650 participants
actively attended the specialized
conferences. More than
100 visitors attended the
guided tours in English,
Spanish, and Russian alone.
An outstanding success
in difficult times. And a very
good point made when it
comes to the possibilities of
a networked, digital world. No
substitute for a “real” trade
fair. But a starting signal for
an innovative format with a
great deal of potential.

While record-chasers are intoxicated by the
facts and figures of DC fast charging, the
classic AC charging cables from Phoenix
Contact are taking home one prize after
another.
Ecological effects, innovation, and
functional influences – these are some of
the selection criteria according to which
the AC charging cables from Phoenix
Contact have won an international design
prize for the third time. The Chicago
Athenaeum Museum Good Design Award
has been presented annually since 1950.
For Vince Carioti, Director E-Mobility
North America, this award confirms the
value and significance of the AC charging
technology from Phoenix Contact,
especially on the American market. “The
Good Design Award complements the
awards already won in Germany and shows
that the products combine the highest
quality and ergonomic design. They offer
the customer durability and smooth
operation under all climatic conditions, and
this for all vehicles that have type 1 and 2
AC charging connectors.”
