Letter from The Editor Skill, Care & Commitment By Jon Coetzee, National Sales & Marketing Manager, Amiad Australia. As a subsidiary, Amiad Australia is like a customer in the eyes of our Global Head Office (HO), and as a customer we have to trust that HO will devote appropriately skilled resources to take the necessary care when processing our enquiries or orders, and be 100% committed to delivering quality products on time. This is what our customers expect of us and their customers expect of them. My recent trip to HO left me proud to work for Amiad. Upon arrival, as anyone who has ever visited our HO will agree, the hospitality was friendly, caring and attentive. My next observation was that HO was like a revolving door with a constant flux of staff and customers coming and going from all over the world for training, seminars, product inspections and testing. When reflecting on my visit, three words come to mind, Skill, Care and Commitment. Skill - I was impressed by the wide range of skills that converge in one place to deal with all the challenges we, their global customers, provide on a daily basis. Staff retention is high, and it is good to see that someone in assembly could follow a career path that leads to becoming a global application engineer, or that someone who came for a working holiday decades ago has found a job and ultimately, a successful career here. There is something special about a place like this…it's the people. 3 | December  2017 Care - The newly added production facility has been the focus of investment, time and energy, and it is great to see how much care goes into every filter. Amiad's global success was built on quality and those working in the production facility care deeply about our reputation - our future depends on it. I was impressed by the effort taken to connect the metal worker in production with the end user in the field, needing clean water in a faraway land. Commitment - While on my morning run through the surrounding orchards, I saw a number of Amiad products being used on the property, like fertiliser injectors and an EBS filter. These surrounding areas are a proven testing ground for R&D’s latest innovations, and therefore as an end user of the products, HO demand the same quality, reliability and robustness from them as the customer would expect, so to protect and serve the investment they’ve made in these surrounding orchards. In summary, Amiad is very aware of its heritage and the contribution of its people that saw Amiad grow from humble beginnings to arguably the largest mechanical filtration company in the world. Skill, care and commitment have been at the heart of this transformation and will continue for many decades to come.
