August 2017, Penrith, NSW Hartfield Park site tour Special edition: Safe & secure water Our final Amiad University of the year brought us to the home of NRL team, Penrith Panthers, and was a special edition University in relation to the impending release of the $1 billion Safe & Secure water program in NSW, and the imminent release of Health Based Targets across Australia. The special edition topic meant that the University featured sections devoted to Water Safety (e.g. Crypto & Helminths Reduction, Membrane Pre-filtration, Effluent Polishing) and Water Security (Air Valve selection and Control Valve applications for Pipeline Design), before offering attendees the chance to see the nearby St.Marys Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant. Attendees were given a guided tour of this largest water recycling project in Sydney, and the opportunity to ask questions to our guides from UGL & GE.
