RECENT EVENTS
Amiad University Series
It’s been a busy year for the Amiad University tour, with 3 different University events being
held across Australia, featuring new-for-2017 additions including special edition topics,
guest speakers and guided tours of innovative water treatment systems.
March 2017, MCG, Victoria
To ‘kick-off’ the year, our first event was held at the MCG in Victoria. The event focussed on the staples
that had made the 25 previous Amiad University’s so successful, combing theory with practical
demonstrations of different technologies available. On the 2nd day, attendees were given a guided tour
of the water treatment process at the MCG’s Water Recycling facility, from the initial phase of screening
and grit removal, through to ultraviolet disinfection and chlorination. Attendees learnt that the facility,
capable of producing over 600 kilolitres of recycled water per day, was developed not only to serve the
MCG, but other areas surrounding Yarra Park also. There was then time for attendees to recap on this &
ask our team of Amiad engineers further questions about it back in the seminar room.

Special edition: Aquifer injection, storage & re-use
To continue our presence as an industry leader &
pioneer in new technologies, Amiad decided to hold
a seminar dedicated to the prevalent topic of
Aquifer injection, storage and re-use during the
Winter in Western Australia. We invited guest
speakers from a variety of backgrounds (Shire of
Kalamunda, Managed Recharge & Rockwater) to
talk to the 50+ attendees about their experiences,
specific projects & legislations in place/parameters
in using this revolutionary technique.
